Christopher Sibley is an Oscar-shortlisted director, producer, and editor. A West Texan with an MFA in Film Business from USC, Sibley is an independent producer of feature films, commercials, and documentaries. He cut his teeth traveling from the East to West Coast, working alongside names such as award-winning producer Michael Shamberg (Gattaca, Erin Brockovich) and Oscar-winning actor Casey Affleck (Ocean’s Eleven, Manchester by the Sea). Sibley has worked in all phases of production, including the marketing and selling of films to Gravitas Ventures and distribution on both Amazon and Apple TV. Two of his feature films won the Audience Award at Austin Film Festival (in 2021 and 2022).
Chris and his business partner at Alchemist Arts, Andrew Van Wyk, thrive in creating content in multiple mediums: film, TV, podcasts, short stories, and new media. They have traveled around the world as speakers at conferences, talking about adapting classical literature to virtual and augmented reality.
Recently, Chris started teaching film production and post-editing as a guest professor at San Juan Diego High School in Austin, Texas. His students showcase their work each year at the closing Austin Symphony Masterworks Performance, where Chris’s Symphony Receptions Committee hosts events for VIP guests. He has held a seat on the Symphony board since 2020.
In his free time, Chris is either backpacking or building custom campervans along with his wife and pup. Together, they often explore and document the hidden gems of nature, only accessible to those who seek to discover the circuitous paths beyond our own backyards.
